50th birthday suggestions?? Please!?

I learned last year that my father in law does not (and never has) done anything for my mother in law birthdays. No card, flowers, or anything. In May she turns 50, and I am looking for ideas to make it really, really great for her. She is a naturalist, as unmaterialistic as you can be, and very quiet. She has a small group of friends.

As I said, she is not used to any acknowledgement so please help me!

50th birthday suggestions?? Please!?
Here%26#039;s something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two and family would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
Reply:a small get together with her best friends at home..make sure she knows she%26#039;s loved...lots of flowers =]
Reply:First, make sure she wants something--some people really do not like to celebrate their birthdays because we don%26#039;t feel it%26#039;s any achievement to just wake up and breath all day. Some naturalists don%26#039;t like cut flowers, they%26#039;d rather have them still alive and attached to their leaves and roots in the ground. And some people don%26#039;t like surprise parties. So you need to find out first. Then, if she%26#039;s up for something, look for a nice organic restaurant, possibly with an outdoor setting or go for a hike and a picnic at some outdoor place with her closest friends and family.
Reply:Throw her a nice surprise party and invite family and friends. She will probably be so happy that you think so highly of her.
Reply:have fun
Reply:this samething happened to my aunt a month ago.

we gave her 2 vases of 25 flowers and each flower had a card from us
Reply:thats a great idea!
