Her birthday is tomorrow...?

My fiance left me on the 24th of Jan. She said she is in love with me and still loves me...but has to deal with life on her own for right now. Too much stress etc. She said i smothered her...but only as telling her I love her all the time....always asking if she needed anything. I thought that is what you do when you are in love with someone...you are always there for them. Tomorrow is her birthday..I miss her so much. I have not even spoken to her. I wrote her a letter that stated that I will leave her alone to figure out her life. I want to text her and tell her happy birthday. I also wanted to send her flowers for Valentines day. She and I may not be together anymore, but she will always be my valentine. She once told me if I left her she would fight like hell for me...now that she left me I want to fight like hell for her. I want to put that on a card and send it to her. Is that a good idea? What is your opinion? Especially women.

Her birthday is tomorrow...?
awwww....you sound so sweet. Many girls wish for a guy like you. I think you should send her flowers for her birthday and a card but maybe you shouldn%26#039;t send her anything for valentine%26#039;s day since she left ya......its too much of an approch, but don%26#039;t give up.
Reply:Don%26#039;t let her get away. She sounds very special! I%26#039;d buy her something small. If you get her something expensive, she%26#039;ll still think you%26#039;re smothering her. Good Luck!!!
Reply:That sounds like the sweetest thing to do, and you make perfect sense. I dont understand why she is sending you mixed signals though. You should do what feels right, and let her know how you feel then go from there. But dont go to overboard. A note and flowers sounds perfect! Good Luck!
Reply:Nope, why should you send her a card for her birthday when she dumped you?

When she let you go, she let all these things go too, this is part of you.

If you give her these kind of things, it shows her that it%26#039;s ok for her to dump you %26amp; not have you in her life, yet she still gets the bonus%26#039;s from you.

Basically, the break up is raw, so if she has any inconsideration for you, she won%26#039;t be mad to not recieve a card or present from you on her birthday.

So no don%26#039;t do it.. seriously, your just putting yourself in a vulnerable position and letting her have her cake %26amp; eat it.
Reply:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Just send her flowers and a nice little note and that%26#039;s it dont do anything else.
Reply:Yes, don%26#039;t give up on her!!
Reply:guy? what do you have to lose?just go for it.a little suggestion for you.while she%26#039;s working on her life why not figure yours out?i know its soon but get out there you never know there might be another mis right for you.tough to do when in love but what if things dont work out then thats just more time you%26#039;ve lost finding you path in life.i would send flowers and a b-day card.then you might find out whats going to happen

My fiancee is moving in soon from out of town and it's pretty close to her birthday. What should I get her?

I%26#039;ve already bought her jewelry, flowers , and clothes on previous birthdays.

My fiancee is moving in soon from out of town and it%26#039;s pretty close to her birthday. What should I get her?
Make it really special. Buy all those things and other things she likes. Take her out to lunch and dinner and a movie. You can go bowling or ice skating in the afternoon. At night put on some Romantic Music and dance with her. Stay with her the entire day. That will make her really happy and it will be one of the best birthdays.
Reply:Well, you%26#039;ve pretty much topped it! Jewelry, flowers (including roses??), clothes? Wow. Why don%26#039;t you take her out to an expensive, romantic restaurant?

I love her so much, i%26#039;ve bought her lots of flowers and a bracelet, it%26#039;s her birthday and i dunno what to buy. please help me.

What is a perfect birthday present for my girlfriend around 17?

Reply:A .380 Walther.
Reply:Aww, how cute. %26lt;3

Maybe you could buy her something to signify your relationship.

Like... a necklace with both your initials engraved on it.

Or, since you already got her a piece of jewelery, you could get her something that she likes? Like clothes! Every girl loves clothes :)
Reply:A beautiful heart necklace. If it opens, put a picture of the two of you together or one of you. If it is not one that opens, engrave the back with something like this: With Love on your birthday, and sign you name, or date it and put : With Love, Your name.

She will love that it has been personalized.
Reply:I think what you have already bought her should be enough, but if you insist on buying something else, try a bottle of her favorite perfume. Or a simple night out to a movie.

Preserving/Drying Flowers?

I recieved a beautiful boquet of flowers bought at the florist for my birthday. I really want to preserve or dry them so I can keep them forever. What is the best way to do this that is easy and doesn%26#039;t cost a lot of money?

Preserving/Drying Flowers?
You can purchase inexpensively a granular drying product at most craft stores that you cover the flowers in and %26quot;cook%26quot; in the microwave. They won%26#039;t fade or shrivel up like plain drying can do. You can also press them and then put them in picture frames.
Reply:Put the petals of the flowers in between a book for a few weeks.
Reply:Showers aren%26#039;t dry places so don%26#039;t hang them there. dark dry places are the best places to hang them. Some species don%26#039;t dry or preserve well, be prepared to lose them.Maybe dry them and use them as potpourri..add scented oil when they need them...they%26#039;ll last longer as potpourri in a bowl than as stemmed flowers.
Reply:Laminate them . GENTLY lay out the flower, and put a piece of wood on top of it, and put weight on top of the wood for a few days. Then, laminate them.
Reply:Doc.Shell is right. Someone had told me the same way.
Reply:The best way to dry flowers is to hang them upside down.

If you have a deep freezer I would put them in there. My friend put her corsage from her 7th grade prom in there and it looked just the same as the day she got it even a few years later. :)
Reply:take them from the water and bind all the stems together and then use a clothes pin to hang them upside down on a coat hanger, then hang from your bathroom shower curtain rod. Within a few days they should be dry.

Birthstones/flowers/etc for my daughter?

I know that there are different birthstones, flowers, and other symbols assigned depending on when someone was born. My daughter was born August 14th, 2007. I%26#039;m wondering what stones, flowers or other symbols may represent her birthday/year/month. I%26#039;m thinking of getting a symbolic tattoo and I%26#039;m trying to brainstorm some options.

Birthstones/flowers/etc for my daughter?
How about a double moon, August 14th starts the Double Moon month of the Norse. Check out this website http://www.northvegr.org/date.php Also, besides the Gladiola, the poppy is also her flower.

Reply:The August birthstone is called Peridot and its colour is yellow and green. August birthstone has and still is being used as a means to connect to nature in particular belief systems such as Paganism. The word Peridot comes from and Arabic word which means %26#039;Gem%26#039;, the ancient Egyptians called the August birthstone %26#039;Gem of the Sun%26#039;. The Peridot stone comes from a mineral known as Olivine. Another Birthstone for August is called Sardonyx: http://www.about-birthstones.com/augustb...

The August Birth Flower is the Gladiola, this flower is native to South America but grows in the US and Europe also. It is often referred to as the %26#039;Sword Lilly%26#039; and it is purple in colour.

August birthdays are also known for a strong sense of character and moral integrity. The gladiola also reminds us that strength of character and integrity can look gorgeous and be full of rich personality.

Flowers ...?

I have started buying my wife flowers randomly for no specific reason like birthday or aniversary, just like that out of the blue.

How common is this? Does you partner buy you flowers for no specific reason?

Flowers ...?
No mine didn%26#039;t after we were married I asked him too and instead he came home with a metal flower saying there you can look at that when ever you want flowers and best yet it won%26#039;t die on you.. Totally missed the point.

I think thats very sweet of you just to do it cause you want to not for any specific reason just cause you want to.

Good job your going to get more honey from your bee this way. It does%26#039;t always have to be the big extravegant gifts all the time little things count too.

Good job
Reply:That was so very thoughful of you St. Anger just the thought means alot. I will picture it in my mind the pretty flowers you would have sent.

Your to kind.

Reply:I rarely get flowers from my partner. Usually I buy for myself. I don%26#039;t like the cheap ones at the grocery store I prefer from the fresh flower stand or farmers market.

I had a guy that did that for me every week it was really sweet...he rented my basement and on payday he would pay his rent and bring me flowers and he%26#039;d make dinner. It was really sweet.

I had a boyfriend who frequently bought me flowers and placed them next to my bed and an other who bought me rose bushes so I would always have flowers. It%26#039;s a nice memory thanks for reminding me.

BTW...Keep up the good work;)
Reply:You are such a sweet husband and your wife is a lucky lady. I have been married for 18 years and I think in the last 10yrs I may have gotten flowers once. Keep it up--I know your wife must love it!
Reply:its the sweetest thing!!i dont have a partner!!
Reply:How sweet! The most wonderful time was once my husband came home with his arms literally full of wildflowers, he could barely get through the doorway - it was fantabulous. He was working just outside the city and went and gathered them for me just before he came home. That meant more to me than any florist flowers!
Reply:I wish he would
Reply:Yes, I buy my wife flowers.....every few months.... for NO reason.....
Reply:That%26#039;s so sweet. It always makes my day when my husband sends me flowers out of the blue.

Next time sign the card %26quot;your secret admirer.%26quot; I always get a kick out of that :-)
Reply:No, my husband is prohibited from buying me flowers... LOL I tell him, just give me cash instead... Flowers is such a cliché, and a waste of money... He is so thoughful anyways, he always does things for me, I really don%26#039;t need clichés to know that he cares.
Reply:That is a very beautiful gesture. It is the little things that make a woman%26#039;s heart flutter. Even if it is a hand written note saying, %26quot;I love you.%26quot; Never stop doing the simple things. God bless you and your family
Reply:No, and I%26#039;m glad he doesn%26#039;t. Flowers are just a waste - they die in a few days and it%26#039;s just not worth it. 2 years ago we went to a Renaissance Festival and my husband bought me a handmade wooden rose - the detail is extraordinary - and I keep it in our bedroom on the chest of drawers - to me it%26#039;s the perfect flower because it will last forever and that%26#039;s all I need.
Reply:flowers are a nice, romantic gesture . . but I guess it depends on what the woman likes . . . my fiance has never given me flowers because he thinks they are a waste of money . . they%26#039;re just going to die anyway . . so he buys other things that he knows I like, like chocolates and things like that . . . any romantic or thoughtful gesture is always appreciated by me . . .
Reply:No and I like flowers. But he buys me other things, like Beavis and Butt-Head seasons 1, 2, 3 which I love. It just helps to be in tune with your partner, don%26#039;t have to go by the general standard, find something she loves.
Reply:My Husband does this and I love it.

He sent me 100 roses on our wedding day.

He sent me 3 dozen roses when we moved into our new house.

He sent me 2 dozen roses the day of our daughter%26#039;s birthday.

He sent me 1 dozen yellow roses and chicken noodle soup because I was having a bad day.

Your wife is very fortunate to have a Husband as caring and thougtful as you -- Bravo!
Reply:Yes, occasionally....what I really adore is that he knows how much I love pink carnations.........and when I get pink carnations it melts my heart.......roses are so cliche%26#039; in my opinion...every woman gets them.....I love pink carnations laced with forget-me-knots.......

My Girlfriends birthday is 2 wks after valentines day. What should I do?

Valentines and a birthday in the same month! ... and I don%26#039;t even know what to get her for her birthday.

I was thinking about some flowers and a little teddy for Valentines. But then what about 2wks later??

I know that we have a test on her b-day (we%26#039;re both in the same class) and also has to study for another test the next day. --So should I do something bigger on Valentines when she will be less busy and preoccupied?? What kind of things would she like??

For Christmas I got her an amethyst ring (her birthstone) which she seems to love, but she wears it only occasionally and I don%26#039;t know why.

Shes the kind of girl who wouldn%26#039;t ever say that she didn%26#039;t like a gift.

I just want both Valentines and her B-day to be special.

We%26#039;ve been together for 4 months and were both 19 (after her B-day)

My Girlfriends birthday is 2 wks after valentines day. What should I do?
Whatever you do, don%26#039;t combine the gift. My birthday falls on Mother%26#039;s day every few years or so and I absolutely hate a combined gift.

I would say give her something thoughtful and romantic for Valentine%26#039;s day, but not necessarily expensive. Pack up a picnic lunch and take her out for a private picnic and give her one rose. You can also give her something thoughtful that you know she would like but doesn%26#039;t necessarily cost a lot, like a book by one of her favorite authors or a small box of her favorite candy. Then on her birthday you will have better options.
Reply:Do two seperate gifts. For Valentines Day go simple but sweet. Cook her dinner, so that you are not waiting in line at some restraunt where every couple in the world is trying to be romantic. Buy her whatever her favorite flowers are. The stuffed animal is a cute idea. Rent a movie you have both wanted to see, or her favorite movie. Just stay home and enjoy each others company.

For her birthday, take her out to dinner. Do something unusual. Take her to the zoo if she is an animal person. Or go horseback riding if that is something she has ever been interested in....something like that. If there is a cool place you want to take her to, load her up and don%26#039;t tell her where you are going. Even if you have to put the birthday celebration off a little, like after all your tests. One the day of her birthday, give her a gift. And tell her that there is more to come on your next free days.
Reply:Why Chickens? Understanding your own reasons for growing chickens will help you choose the right flock and get setup with the right equipment. The main reasons people grow their own chickens are:to have a supply of fresh eggs, for fresh meat, pest and weed control, and a supply of nitrogen-rich manure. What you plan to do with your flock will determine (to some degree) what you will need to do to get set up. For example, if you want to let your chickens run through your garden once in a while to gobble up insects, you will need to set up some means for controlling their access to the garden so they can%26#039;t get in to eat tiny seedlings. If you want chickens for eggs, you will need to include nesting boxes in your hen house design. The end purpose will also determine the composition of your flock. Some chickens, such as Leghorns, have been bred as layers, others have been bred for rapid meat production. Yet others, such as Rhode Island Reds, are good dual-purpose birds. If you are raising chickens to show, you will become very selective about their breeding. The Brood

A good way to get started is to buy baby chicks. They are usually available from feed stores in early Spring. You can also start by getting fertilized eggs and keeping them in an incubator until they hatch. Either way, you will need to get a brooder and keep it in the house or put it out in the garage where cats and other predators can%26#039;t get at the chicks. For heat, be aware that chicks need 95 degrees for the first week. You can drop this by 5 degrees every week until they%26#039;re 6 weeks old. Then they are fairly feathered out and unless you live in a very cold area, they are able to withstand normal temperatures. If you don%26#039;t have a formal brooder, your heat source is usually a light bulb or heat-lamp. Be careful with these not to leave them low enough for the chicks to burn themselves. Also, especially with heat-lamps, be careful that the bedding can%26#039;t catch fire. Fresh water should be available to the chicks at all times. As an energy supplement, I add one tablespoon of sugar per quart the first time I water newly hatched chicks. A chick starter feed should be fed to all chicks until they are 6 weeks of age. You can get this at your local feed store. After this time, feed them a pullet grower feed until about 20 weeks. Then they can be switched to a laying feed.Bedding For Chicks Never start young chicks on a slippery surface such as newspaper. If you are using newspaper as bedding, for the first 4 days spread paper towels over it. Be careful using wood shavings on young chicks until they learn what their food is. They may start eating them which will block them up and kill them.My favorite surface is wire! I take a piece of hardware cloth or an old window screen and cut it to the dimensions of the brooder. Then I put down a layer of newspaper and lay the wire on it. At cleaning time I just lift out the wire and hose it down, replacing a clean layer of newspaper beneath it. Be careful to make sure there are no sharp wires to hurt their feet. Either bend the edges under or tape them up.

Inside The Coop

As the chickens mature, you will need to provide them with a shelter that meets their basic needs. The ideal chicken coop will protect chickens from rain, wind, and temperature extremes. There should be perches adequately spaced and arranged so that the chickens can perch comfortably.

Chickens do better when they roost at night up off the ground. And they%26#039;re happier, also. It is the natural way for a bird to sleep. It helps prevent external parasites and keeps them from lying in their own droppings. You also don%26#039;t want them to start sleeping in the nest boxes. These are for egg-laying, and we really don%26#039;t want to collect our eggs out of a nest that%26#039;s been slept in by a chicken, do we? (Chickens aren%26#039;t house trainable!) Some kind of litter such as straw or wood shavings should be spread underneath the perches and needs to be changed when it becomes wet or soiled. A mixture of straw and chicken manure is ideal for garden compost.

Special Accommodations For Egg Layers

Hens for laying will be benefited by special nesting boxes. These should be constructed so that they don%26#039;t serve well as perches but will appeal to the natural instincts of a hen when she becomes %26quot;broody%26quot; especially if you want your hen to incubate a batch of fertilized eggs. The nesting boxes need to be somewhat enclosed and nest like. Hens are known to lay eggs and establish a brood wherever they feel conditions are best. Sometimes they have to be coaxed into using the nesting boxes by using artificial eggs. Clever arrangements such as a rear trap door can facilitate the gathering of eggs for eating. A laying hen will produce an egg every one to two days. Frequent gathering will assure freshness, keep eggs clean and minimize breakage. All chickens lay eggs in a series - never more than one or two per day. If the eggs are not collected, and a sufficient number of eggs are allowed to remain in the nest, the hen may stop laying eggs and start brooding. When the hen leaves the nest after laying an egg, it cools which suspends the development of the embryo inside. If the ambient temperature remains between 45F and 65F, the embryos will remain viable for as long as two weeks. When the hen becomes broody and sits on her eggs for three weeks, all of the eggs will hatch at about the same time. The hen does not start to incubate the eggs until the whole clutch is laid. The physiology of a hen changes after she%26#039;s laid her clutch. She will remain on them, with her wings slightly spread to help keep them warm, for 21 days. She will make muttering, growling sounds if disturbed, and may even peck or otherwise try to defend her nest. She will only leave the nest once a day to eat, drink and defecate. You should make sure the hen does do this at least every other day so she will not either starve or get the eggs dirty with her droppings. (Broody droppings usually come out in one large, very bad-smelling glob.) Once the chicks start to hatch she will remain on the nest with them for 24-48 hours. Any eggs that have not hatched by then will be left behind when she takes the chicks for their first walk. At this time water and chick feed should be available for the chicks. A hen is also called broody when she is raising her chicks, protecting them, teaching them to find food, and hovering over them to keep them warm.%26quot;Breaking Up%26quot; A Broody HenWhen we remove the eggs, the hen supposes: %26quot;There are not yet enough,%26quot; and continues to lay. We don%26#039;t always want to have our hens hatching eggs. When we want to stop one, this is called %26quot;breaking up%26quot; a broody. Sometimes just putting her in a pen where she can%26#039;t see her old nest and keeping her there for 4 days will do the job. She should, of course, have feed and water. Some strong broodies will just continue to set even in a pen with no eggs. For the more stubborn hen, a wire-bottomed cage is necessary. The airflow up through the wire keeps her underside cool and after a few days she will usually give up. Again, she should have feed and water available at all times. Some commercial people and old-time chicken raisers deprive a hen of feed and water when trying to break her up, but this is cruel and also not good for the bird. Lack of feed weakens an already weak bird (since they don%26#039;t eat much when broody anyway) and lack of water for several days can damage the liver.

The Hen%26#039;s CackleWild chickens are forest animals. They live in small groups called flocks. They scratch in the dirt and forage for things to eat. While one hen sits on the nest to lay, the group may wander away through the undergrowth searching for food. The hen%26#039;s cackle serves to renew the contact with the group as if to yell %26quot;where are you?%26quot;. The **** (with the other hens) answers %26quot;here we are!%26quot;. The Yard Various arrangements are possible for the poultry yard. The basic requirement is a good fence to keep predators (sometimes including family pets) from getting in. Sometimes a yard will be split into two halves with a gate connecting the two. The chickens are kept in the first half while a green cover crop grows in the second half. When the crop matures, the chickens are moved into the second half where they can nibble on the greens. In the mean time a new crop is started in the first half. If you%26#039;re going to introduce chicks over 6 weeks old to an older flock of birds, here is a good way to make sure they can get enough feed. In your chicken yard or coop, construct an area that you can keep a supply of grower feed and water in. It should have entrance holes that are too small for the older birds to get in. Confine the young birds in there for a few days (at least during the day-- you could return them to the brooder at night). They%26#039;ll learn where the food is and when you open the entrances they will soon start going out. The older birds will pick on them, but it should be fine as the chicks will have a safe refuge to retreat to. Feed Feeds are available to suit the changing needs of the chickens. Chicks can be fed a starter mix until they are feathered out. Then they can be fed maintenance feed until they start laying. Layers can be fed egg booster and scratch. Feed comes in 3 forms: mash, crumbles and pellets. Mash is powdery, just as it sounds. Pellets are made of compressed mash, and crumbles of broken up pellets. I find mash wasteful and never use it. I use crumbles for my chicks and pellets for the older birds. Then when they kick it out of the feeders they can still pick it up. Some feeds are medicated. Coccidiosis is a disease that can kill chicks that have not built up a resistance to it. They can pick it up outside from the droppings of other birds. If your chicks go outside you may want to give them a feed medicated with Amprolium, which co

OR you could get her a coach bangle (bracelet) or a necklace from there, they have a lot of cute jewlery now...

You might also want to try sephora or bath %26amp; body works because they sell a lot of really cute gifts like gift sets and boxed things like sets or perfumes/soaps or something like that

Or you could get her something at victoria%26#039;s secret like some cute sweatpants and a top from the pink collection, or maybe a nice gift set from there....

OR try ebay, they sell a lot of good stuff for lower prices....or go to nordstrom and get her a box of 7 juicy couture panties (they come in a heart shaped box with 7 diff ones) they are soo cute! or maybe a juicy couture necklace or bracelet...(they sell them at nordstrom or bloomingdales).

Women love jewelery, but a ring or necklace are too %26quot;serious relationshipy%26quot;, go for a pair of earrings. ALL 22 year old girls love them and she%26#039;ll be psyched that you went and picked them out. They%26#039;re pretty inexpensive too. You can get silver instead of gold for 20-50 bucks, whatever floats your boat.

Do pay attention to the ones she already wears and try and stay within the same style and size. If she wears dangly, get dangly. If she prefers studs get studs. She%26#039;ll be floored.

I have been sort of seeing someone for a few weeks, but we%26#039;re not sure if we are just friends or more? I sent him (red roses) flowers at work today for his birthday. Was I too forward? (I am a woman, by the way)

(question for men) Would u like it if a woman sent u flowers at work?
I sent flowers to my boyfriend at work two years ago and he really appreciated it! He said no one has ever done that for him before and he was very happy. What I sent him was a very simple vase with three pink roses in it. That was because pink was the color rose he had previously gotten me, and I wanted him to know that I remembered. I got him a rose one other time (way before) that was plain red and I gave it to him at his house, not at work, but he loved that also, showed it off to his family, and they all talked about how sweet I was for weeks.

I think a lot of the answers here are gender stereotypes. If the guy is really into you and loves you than he will take the flowers as what they are, a gesture of love, and he will be happy that you did that for him. It%26#039;s the 21st century and we%26#039;re supposed to be so liberated. Of course, a woman can buy flowers for a man if she wants to express herself that way, and he will know that they are meant to be romantic and are a symbol of how much she cares.
Reply:i think that is really nice it makes a change for a woman to make the first move with romance good on you if he does not appreciate it then sod him you can do better
Reply:I dunno.. Maybe he%26#039;s embarrassed cuz he got flowers.... But it was a nice thought. You should%26#039;ve sent him a case of beer instead.
Reply:After a few weeks, I think that%26#039;s a great way to show that you want to step up the relationship, or at least make sure you two are on the same page.
Reply:That%26#039;s kind of embarrasing!

men aren%26#039;t supposed to get flowers at work, women are supposed to get flowers at work....

Everyone is gonna think he%26#039;s gay...........
Reply:No not at all. If I were in his position I would consider it an act of kindness and thoughtfullness. I%26#039;m sure he loved it or is going to love it.
Reply:yeah....i would never ever send flowers to my hubby at work....it will embarass them
Reply:I would think that is sweet. Maybe he has the same feelings. Just make sure he%26#039;s not the one answering this question.
Reply:To be very honest with you, what ever you have done is ok type - not much appealing

everyone has their own sweet spots. if you want ot please him, send him a fun card. He will smile and then will give you that %26quot;LOOK%26quot; what you are expecting.

Just try it out, I am not expert but I would have loved if some one had done that.
Reply:No but a BJ would be even better.
Reply:Sammy, typically guys don%26#039;t appreciate flowers the way women do.

It%26#039;s not that it would be gay (not that there%26#039;s anything wrong with that) or embarassing, it%26#039;s just that a man doesn%26#039;t associate flowers (receiving anyway) with romance.

Now, if you sent him a home made card/invitation for a candle lit dinner, that would probably send the right message.

I think it was a nice touch though, have any sisters :)
Reply:I think his people at work mite think hes gay getting flowers from someone. it was a sweet thing to do, but men just arent into flowers. If i were him id be a lil surprised and taken back by that.
Reply:NOOOOO!!! Dont waste flowers on a guy. I would feel like a douche bag if i got flowers. We dont give two shits about flowers!

My gf got me flowers one time and i had to do that gay thing where you smell them, but really faking the smelling of the flowers, so you make them think you really care!
Reply:LOL, a little off the norm, but hey, this is 2007.

I would be a bit embarrassed, but would greatly appreciate the gesture.
Reply:it was nice of u but personally i would be embarrassed to get flowers at work.
Reply:it%26#039;s cool... but next time send it with a six pack.. so it%26#039;s not so gay.... but it%26#039;s cool.... i get it sometimes...
Reply:i think that was a very nice gesture on your part.no i wouldnt mind at all.and i dont think he will mind either.it was very nice of you thinking of him that much,to send him flowers, but the next time, send him something else.i think those are for women.

Can anyone suggest a good website to order flowers?

I want to send flowers to my friend for her birthday but she on the opposite side of the state from me so I wanted to know if anyone could advise me on a good reliable but inexpensive floral service.

Can anyone suggest a good website to order flowers?
I%26#039;ve done this many times. The FTD site is wonderful. They also have a toll free number. You can specify how much you want to spend. They have special arrangements for different occasions. You can buy a small or large - same arrangement different prices. VERY reasonable.

www.ftd.com
Reply:1-800-flowers has the best selection and they use a local florist to deliver the product. i%26#039;ve received numerous arrangements from my honey this way. they also have other gifts available. candy, gift cards, all kinds of goodies. and most importantly, you can search any price range!

Reply:The best way to send flowers to your friend is to call a florist in your hometown - tell them what you want to send, how much you want to pay and where to send them - they will take care of it for you from there, you don%26#039;t have to search for a florist on the net (will probably cost you a whole lot more doing it that way) - I do it all the time! Tell your friend happy B%26#039;day for me!

and what happens if they do

serious answers only please help

What is the best way to give flowers to a friend(girl)?
If you show up at her party and give her a present, what could be more normal then that? If anyone gives you a hard time just say that%26#039;s what we do in our family, all the ladies get flowers. I think it%26#039;s a great idea!!
Reply:when u show up.. just give them to her.. like here, I thought these would make u smile and brighten your day..

also, if its a friend, dont get red flowers for her. maybe like pink or something fun. NOT RED. thats just setting yourself up for failure.

Personally.. id buy her mixed flowers, and stay away from the roses all together. she will smile when she sees them. or shes evil. one of the 2

How do I make Flowers out of icing for cake?!?

Does anyone know of any websites that show you how to make flowers out of icing for a birthday cake...I sorta know how to make them already but i would still like to see some directions...They don%26#039;t have to be very detailed. Thanks in advance.

Reply:use a piping bag with a floral tip

good luck
Reply:The best type to use is royal icing - don%26#039;t have the recipe to hand, but as I recall, it needs egg-white, and is quite a stiff icing. You can use a few drops of food colouring, and then (dusting your hands with icing sugar first) use it like play-doh to shape them into flowers, or roll the icing out, and use a greaseproof paper template to cut them out. You could always use silver balls (the edible kind) if you can find them and put them in the centre of each flower for a decorative touch!
Reply:depends on what kind you want to make. Icing Roses? Piped Daisies? THeres lots of other kinds. It all really depends on what kind of tip you are using to pipe the frosting.

Theres a variety of cake decorating supplies and they come with instruction booklet at www.wilton.com
Reply:In the states, the classic company for learning to decorate cakes is Wilton%26#039;s. Their web site is: http://www.wilton.com/index.cfm

Any stiff buttercream or shortening based icing will work. I%26#039;ve even used canned.

If you want to make flowers that get hard, that you can make ahead and will last quite awhile (but taste terrible) you can make royal icing - which uses an egg white powder base. Wilton sells a mix for royal icing.

The real key to making beautiful flowers are the decorating tips that you put in the pastry bag to pipe out the flowers. The grocery stores icings in the tubes that come with 2 or 3 tips are okay, but nothing is better then a parchment bag with a good quality tip.

A birthday present for a female friend?

ok i was thinking of getting my friend a bunch of her favorite flowers (yellow frangipani) for her 22nd birthday.

how many should i give her 6,12, 24 ?

and is this a good idea for her, she doesn%26#039;t have a boyfriend either but will she read anything into this or will she think it%26#039;s just sweet/cute help and how should i give them to her.

i%26#039;m flying down the day before would it be better in person or send them to her.

A birthday present for a female friend?
MMM, flowers are nice;; you should send the RIGHT message on the card to make sure she doesn%26#039;t read into it....

Why don%26#039;t you get a heap of old pictures of you guys, other friends n stuff having fun times and scrpbook them... if you aren%26#039;t very crafty.. you could get someone else to scrapbook it for you!!!!! you can get professionals but they are usually quite pricey.. you can use frangipani%26#039;s too decorate the book????

anyways... good luck;;

Reply:12 yellow frangipani is great, i think she%26#039;ll be very pleased and also you get her a friendly birthday card and don%26#039;t worry you%26#039;ll just seem like a good friend, she shouldn%26#039;t look at you any different and please give them to her in person, she%26#039;ll be glad to see you.
Reply:send them to her and then show up it will be like two gifts instead of one. as far as the way she may take you giving her flowers it its up to u to stop anything that might happen . Flowers are sweet , good luck
Reply:I think you should get her 12 because it is not so over the top. You should send them to her if you think it might be awkward. Just put something neutral on the card. I don%26#039;t think she would read to much into it. It is a nice gift.

What perfume/flowers do you like the most and why?

If your boyfriend or husband wanted to buy you some perfume as a gift what would you most like to receive regardless of the cost and why?

Also what are your favourite kind of flowers?

(And no its not a Birthday/Christmas/Guilty Conscience gift!)

What perfume/flowers do you like the most and why?
I like the fragrance Chloe. Why, because I like it.

My favorite flowers are purple Irises. Why, because I like them.

These are subjective answers. Not every woman will agree with my choices. The woman you are thinking of probably has very distinct likes and dislikes when it comes to fragrance as well. Instead of asking the whole world, why not just ask her?

By the way, I think you are a sweetheart for thinking of her this way.
Reply:I personally like Europhia by Calvin Klein, as well as some other fragrances, this one stands out the most because the smell is distinct and it lingers, you don%26#039;t have to put on much. I also like Realities its kind of a Early Saturday Morning Scent, (refreshing I guess.) I also like Angel for the Fall months.

As far as flowers I like single roses, not red maybe white or pink.

roses do the trick for me... red / pink / peach all go !

esp lillies - because the bouquet looks rather boring to begin with but then the flowers open up one by one as the days pass by which i think is quite pretty !!
Reply:my favourite flowers are white tulips, they are so delicate and pretty, and were the main flower in my wedding bouquet.
Reply:Gucci Rush smells gorgeous
Reply:Why? Are you offering babe?! My favourite perfume is J Lo%26#039;s %26quot;Glow%26quot; - really fresh, not heavy, can even be worn at work without making my patients feel sick!

As for flowers, sunflowers do it for me - big fat yellow smiley faces that brighten the whole room. And when they die you can use the seeds in the kitchen. Love %26#039;em! Sue xx
Reply:i love dior hypnotic poison...it smells soooo nice. lots of guys also love the smell so do i...its a signature scent which lingers around when you are not there to leave someone to think about you.

you can never go wrong with roses
Reply:POISON PERFUME AND THE FLOWERS ARE ROSES.
Reply:rose is the king of flowers and for perfume would like any good high brand with light scent which sticks on to you throughout and some earthy flavor which soothes you

Reply:Pleasure by Estee Lauder perhaps...it smells great ma...
Reply:I love daisy%26#039;s, simple beauty. And daffodils because they ar %26quot;happy%26quot; flowers... This may sound corny or whatever, but I love the Britney Spears perfumes, especilly Curious, I love the fruity sorts of smells (I dont actually like Britney, just the perfume!)
Reply:My favorite flowers are red roses, the closed up kind, and the perfume I am not so sure, for I am only thirteen, but I like a thick, strong smell, like the ones that my mom has.

If flowers show up for no apparent reason..?

If a guy sends you flowers, and it is not a birthday, an anniversary, Valentines Day, or Mothers Day--- what is your FIRST thought? Is it simply sweet? Or does your mind wander to %26quot;What the hell did he just do?%26quot;

If flowers show up for no apparent reason..?
Honestly, when you get older, flowers on a day that means nothing is a very very romantice gesture. Yes, women will always think %26quot;what has he been doing?%26quot; because that is what we have been taught by the media, but deep down, we LOVE it.

When you receive flowers on V-day, birthdays, etc, we know we are going to get them. The surprise on those days is, if we don%26#039;t get them :)

I say simply sweet! I LOVE THAT!!!
Reply:oh how romantic!I love a guy like that.
Reply:he must feel guilty about something he did.
Reply:yeh for sure because in this day and age u don%26#039;t get flowers just because someone is thinking about ya. u get flowers for thx for last night or something like that.
Reply:A simple note expressing your feelings will eliminate her %26#039;what the hell did he just do%26#039; thought.
Reply:My initial reaction is a big smile! I love to get flowers for no special reason. Maybe I am too trusting but unless I have reason to believe something is wrong I don%26#039;t suspect a thing. Too, many guys give flowers as an apology and have ruined everything for us flower lovin gals.
Reply:I think that if I wasn%26#039;t dating the guy, random roses would be a little awkward. Something more friendly, but sweet like daisies or lillies would fit the situation better. But, that%26#039;s just my opinion. I can%26#039;t speak for all the other girls out there.

Sweet guy, though.
Reply:well, i would think it was a mistake because no one would send me flowers even if it was an event
Reply:IS THESE FLOWERS FROM SOMEONE YOU KNOW? DATING?

NOT ALL GUYS HAVE A MOTIVE. SOME ARE JUST SWEET. THERE RARE. IF YOUR ONE OF THOSE GUYS. DON%26#039;T CHANGE.

THAN AGAIN IF THERE FROM SOMEONE YOU DON%26#039;T KNOW. HE MAY BE A STOCKER.
Reply:simply a gesture of love.....(then what the fuc* has he been doing )
Reply:Wouldn%26#039;t know! My husband forgets birthdays, anniversaries, Mother%26#039;s Day etc.
Reply:i would say sweet but is this like a stalker type deal or you know this person personally and you%26#039;re interested????
Reply:Depends on the kind of flowers and the type of relationship. My husband brought home pink roses to me last night on an evening grocery store run. This was sweet, and if they open and smell sweet I know they were out of love. My grandmother said that if roses are given and don%26#039;t open, they are guilt flowers for a sin. Flowers are very sensitive forces of nature.

Preserving flowers made from icing?

I want to preserve the little flowers that I got on my birthday cake, they are made from iceing, does anyone know the best way to preserve them without them falling apart or growing mold?

Preserving flowers made from icing?
It depends on what kind of iceing was used to make the flowers if they are butter cream freezing will work best. if made with royal iceing just place in an air tight box.

Good luck jim b
Reply:I did a icing flower from my wedding cake with pantene pro-v extra hold hair spray...no joke. I sprayed it everyday for a week and its still rock hard after all these years.
Reply:Try some of that canned polyurethane. Its sprays like a can of paint. I suggest thin layers rather than one heavy coat.

Good luck!

Reply:freeze it maybe?

No flowers on Valentine's Day - Implication?

My bf says I will not receive any flowers on Valentine%26#039;s Day %26#039;coz too expensive. I don%26#039;t receive any flowers on other occasions such as birthday/anniversary also %26#039;coz he says flowers are not cheap (not %26quot;value for money%26quot;). Any views (esp. from gals) on this?

No flowers on Valentine%26#039;s Day - Implication?
Poor you. :(

Flowers aren%26#039;t everything, but I don%26#039;t like the fact that your boyfriend will only look at the monetary value involved.

He should get you flowers at least occasionally for the sole purpose of pleasing you. If he knows you love flowers, he should make the effort for you.

He doesn%26#039;t need to buy you a florist%26#039;s rose bouquet, for goodness%26#039; sake. Doesn%26#039;t he know you can get great flowers at supermarkets like Safeway, or even Walmart?

Even a single, romantic stem from a man on a budget is better than nothing. It%26#039;s the effort, not the gift itself.

Flowers are fleeting, yes, but that is part of why people find them so beautiful.

If his attitude on flowers is mirrored in any other aspects of your relationship, you might want to consider finding someone who will give you gifts from the heart.

Good luck, and I hope this helps! :)
Reply:My dear, if he%26#039;s too cheap to spring for something special for you on special occasions, put him up for sale and go get yourself a better deal. Capisce?
Reply:Hi!!!

It is true, but also an excuse!!! He could at least give you one red rose!!!

Me personally, I don%26#039;t like flowers as gifts. They die!!!

Instead a good romantic dinner, then going dancing, few drinks

(moderate), and respect!!!

That will never die!!! On the contrary it will grow and forever be in one%26#039;s thoughts.

HAPPY VALENTINE%26#039;S DAY

Reply:I am a man that i bought flowers for the first time when i met my wife. So in most guys heads they think that when they buy a women flowers they have decided that they love you with everything they are and more
Reply:All the flowers go about half price the day after, tell him you are willing to wait!!
Reply:Not all flowers are expensive. Tell him that it%26#039;s not necessary to go to a florist if it%26#039;s cost prohibitive. Grocery store flowers will do.
Reply:That he is greedy with his money and trying to force his system of beliefs on you.

TAKE THIS BRIGHT FLASHING WARNING and peer imaginatively into your future when he says %26quot;I will not buy formula or diapers for our children; just use cloth ones, and breastfeed!%26quot;

(I ADVOCATE breastfeeding btw..but thats not our point here)

I think he is just cheap, and considers it an %26quot;expensive chore%26quot; to give u gifts. All girls (women) love a gift every once in a while; not ALL THE TIME.

NOW! Hear this too~ I do not know his side of the story, for all I know, HE COULD BE PERFECTLY reasonable, perhaps he has a nest egg he%26#039;s working on for your future (downpayment for your first home together, etc).

I cannot be right either way, because I do not know his good qualities. But IN MY OWN REGRETS (maritally).....I would advise you to atleast CONSIDER the first part of my answer.

GOD BLESS YOU,

keep the communication with your bf open~

if he doesnt give a noble reasonable response for not doing

simple things like getting you flowers ONCE A YEAR, then re-think ANY GOOD future with him.

Good LUCK HONEY!~!

Reply:I ASK my boyfriend not to get me flowers on occasions like Valentine%26#039;s Day. I think the prices are ridiculous around this time. And, I%26#039;d rather get them for no reason... than for him feeling like he MUST just because it%26#039;s Valentine%26#039;s Day. It%26#039;s more thoughtful on random days of the year.
Reply:Flowers bloom and die. You can cheerish them for a few days. My husband and I decided years ago- plants- better then flowers. Not a big plant girl- so other stuff is better too.

I would rather have something that costs 20.00 that I can hang on to forever- then a 125.00 vase of flowers that will hit the trash and leave me with, yet another empty paid for vase, in a week.

But some flower seeds... 1.00 a pack- flowers all summer.

:-)
Reply:Tell your bf that flowers last a few days so he could buy them before the shops jack up the price. Also, he will avoid the crazy line ups of men in survival mode. No flowers = no love.
Reply:i hate valentines day. i dont intend to get flowers from my boyfriend nor celebrate the day itself. i find it flowers are good to put on graves. shorry..ooh and i agree with the girl that said dump the fcuker loll
Reply:flowers are a must.
Reply:Tell him to shop around. I do not know where you are but instead of a florist he could try a bunch from Walmart for $7-10.00. He just needs to look around, but you probably have to tell him that...it is not a mans mentality to shop around and price thing out.

What could happen if I send flowers to the girl that I like but she has boyfriend?
Noooo, bad idea, because, someone is going to tell she got flowers, and it is gonna cause some major drama, i would recommend that you leave her alone, because i know, if some dude sent my woman flowers talkin about how he really felt, he would have a problem, and he would be 6%26#039;6%26quot; 256 lbs of 5% body fat, he wouldn%26#039;t even want that trouble.

Guys, how would you react if your girlfriend gave you flowers?

I am pissed! My best friend%26#039;s boyfriend ditched her after she gave him flowers and for that reason only.

It was his birthday and she ordered some flowers to be sent to his office. Apparently, he found it provoking and accused her of embarassing him in front of his co-workers and snapped at her angrily before telling her it%26#039;s over. Now, I won%26#039;t go into theories that perhaps their relationship was a weak one, I%26#039;m just curious to see how would you react if your girlfriend gave you flowers.

Guys, how would you react if your girlfriend gave you flowers?
I am a mans man and everybody I work respects me as such. If my lady sent me flowers at work I would smile and be proud to show them off. I don%26#039;t blame you for being pissed off.

I also have to say your girlfriend deserves better than that and yes, there is probably something else wrong with the relationship. I can tell you this, if she were my sister I would want to break his nose for that reaction to an act of love.
Reply:My hubby has allergies. He%26#039;d think it was a death threat and be very upset. He prefers dark chocolate, music, movie tickets or red meat as love tokens.
Reply:i would feel gay
Reply:Blimey good question, from what you said id say he was just looking for a reason to dump her and used it, more than likely got a lot of stick from people in the office but should be able to deal with it, gotta say iv never come across a woman sending a bloke flowers before though. I would curl up in a corner and die slowly but someone else in the office would do something stupid and the attention would move onto them quick enough. Dont give it if ya cant take it i says.

Peace out
Reply:Wow, what a ingrate.

I think anyone getting that pissed off over getting flowers from someone they are with has a screw loose. It really shouldn%26#039;t matter what the gender of the person who receives the gift is, no one should behave like that.
Reply:very very flattering
Reply:He%26#039;s an idiot.

I would feel honored that she thought of me.

She should be glad she%26#039;s rid of him- think of the other abuse she%26#039;s avoided in the future from him.
Reply:I would be a little embarassed if the thing was public, but it would be very sweet if made in private.

The guy is an *** thoug.
Reply:She should be relieved to know about this guy in advance. I love flowers and would think so highly of a girls who thought of me in that special way.
Reply:since i have a phobia of flowers (i feel about flowers the way most people feel about maggots or spiders) i would be bemused if i received them as a gift from a woman i knew well enough to sleep with.

but if your friend%26#039;s bf dumped her after so trivial a gift, i suspect he was already looking for a reason.
Reply:I would have felt insulted: Flowers are to feminine to give to a man, sorry.
Reply:awww...
Reply:I think he acted like a jerk! There is NOTHING wrong with a guy getting flowers!! Your friend is better off without that moron!
Reply:i would quickly put my arm infront of my face and kinda duck low (all this in half a second cuz i have cat like reflexes)
Reply:As the saying goes %26#039;say it with flowers%26#039;. What did the note say that accompanied them? A lovely gesture and perhaps a hint to buy her flowers. Sorry it went wrong. Any girl who sent me flowers would be in my bed within hours.
Reply:he is gay and has not came out of the closet lolololol no I am jk no I have asked my man if he wanted flowers he said he would but its a wast of money cause their just gonna die..

guys are diffrent then girls they want sh*t they can use not sh*t they just look at maybe it inbarsed him or that was just an exuse to get away from your friend..
Reply:i sent my guy white flowers to his office once...flower company messed up and sent him pink roses!!

he laughed and loved it! he worked in a very male environment and they all thought it was so sweet and caring so i wouldnt worry!
Reply:What an asshole! I%26#039;d give him a slap for his birthday..
Reply:I%26#039;LL LOVE TO GET FLOWERS FROM A WOMEN SPECIALLY IF ITS MY GIRL ...

ANYONE WHO THINKS GETTING FLOWERS FROM A LADY IS EMBARASSING OR GAY, THAT PERSON NEESDS TO LOOK OVER HIS SEXUALITY, CUZ THATS A SIGN A WEAK SEXUAL ORIENTATION!!!!
Reply:Hi Poppy, a true story this question reminded me of. I worked for a Railroad, and one of my employee%26#039;s lived about 35 miles from the office. (all Male environment) He parked his car in the city he lived in and rode to work with a female friend who worked near the office. To save gas (He said). Well his wife saw his car and sent him a dozen Black Roses to the office. She also came to the office that evening, and picked him up after work. Needless to say the ribbing he received. To answer your question I would feel honored if someone remembered my Birthday!

Thanks for the memory!! GRRRRRRRRR
Reply:well i%26#039;m not a guy but...

i think that it shouldn%26#039;t be something

to get mad at someone about.

it%26#039;s most definitely the thought that counts.

apparently she liked him to REMEMBER his

darn birthday.

sometimes guys are such jerks. ya know.
Reply:I would feel flattered. And a little puzzled because when she wants to do something nice for me she usually gets me a bottle of Booker Noe. Flowers would still be great, it really is the thought that counts.
Reply:Well he%26#039;s a d***. I really have nothing against it, in fact I%26#039;ve received flowers myself and it doesn%26#039;t affect me.

"EX" boyfriend got me flowers?

So, to make a very long story short my boyfriend of 1 year and about 4 months broke up with me. He had told me that he liked another girl about a week before this. I told him in that week that it was awakrd and when ever im around him i keep overanalyizing things. When he broke up with me he said that I am always in bad moods and he does not like it, and sorta like stupid reasons. But I think that it was mostly because of the girl, which btw does not like him. But i asked him if he wanted he to and he said yes. But a few hours later he said he made a mistake but i told him that i couldn%26#039;t be with him knowing he likes her so we settled it with he will tell me when he thinks he figures his head out, whatever it may end with. So its been a little less than a week and its my 16th birthday, today. He sent me flowers in a vase to my house, what do you think? I don%26#039;t know if this means he wants me back or not because he has not asked me? I thought that he might ask in the card but he didn%26#039;t.

%26quot;EX%26quot; boyfriend got me flowers?
It could be that he remembered your birthday and nothing else. Did you want him to ask?
Reply:he got you flowers solely because he wants you back; he wants you to know he still has feelings for you and if you are still interested in him.... if you are, call him up and plan, if not...tell him how you feel about you guys being OVER
Reply:Ok. Maybe uor EX-boyfriend wants you back. HE probably didn%26#039;t ask, because maybe he was scared. Maybe you should ask hime if he wants to get back together.

Flowers found. Not hers?

A friend of mine found some old dried flowers in the bottom of a closet in her home. The flowers were in the wrapping and she says werent hers. She has been married 4 years. She said her husband gave her flowers already this year for her birthday. %26amp; anniversary. What would you think if you were her and found them? And Men, why do you think they were in the closet.

Flowers found. Not hers?
Maybe the flowers belong to a couple that lived there in the past.
Reply:Thank You!! Report It

Reply:BUY him a mop and a dust pan for his birthday and tell him dont leave old flowers in the closet! EWH!

No seriously, just ask him. DOnt listen to much to what he says but just watch his actions. Is he unconfortable when he answers? There could be a perfectly reasonable explanation and you owe it to him to find out FROM HIM! If the answer sounds like bullshyt or if you think his body language is saying something different. BE ON ALERT, check the cellphone and do some investigating on your own. Any man who would be stupid enough to %26#039;hide%26#039; dead flowers and not throw them away will make plenty of other mistakes
Reply:THINK NOTHING THROW THEM AWAY DON%26#039;T MAKE IT HARD FOR YOURSELF SOMETIMES YOU CAN ACTUALLY THINK A THING SO THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!! DON%26#039;T MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING WE SOMETIMES THINK TOO MUCH!!!!!
Reply:if he gave her flower%26#039;s before then they must be for someone else. other wise why would they be in there
Reply:I would ask my husband and anyone else who lives in the house where they came from...
Reply:Hmmm don%26#039;t know. Maybe he got them for her and forgot. My husband is pretty forgetful. He forgot to give me all my christmas presents so I got my last one today ... because he hid it and forgot. LOL Maybe its no biggie.
Reply:maybe he was going to surpise her and forgot about it.
Reply:I would ask my husband what the flowers were from.
Reply:Keep your nose out of her business.
Reply:who knows, usually if a man buys flowers for someone other than his wife then he doesn%26#039;t take them home, he just gets then delivered to the other woman

maybe he bought them and meant to give them to her for something and then just slipped his mind

who really knows
Reply:Hubby probably forgot to give them to her before they wilted and shriveled up. Or he left them there purposely for her to find when they were fresh and she just overlooked them. I wouldn%26#039;t make a mountain out of nothing.
Reply:I think your %26quot;friend%26quot; already knows the obvious, but I%26#039;ll put it out there in case your %26quot;friend%26quot; isn%26#039;t sure. If she knows that the flowers aren%26#039;t hers and she didn%26#039;t put them there, and she doesn%26#039;t have a teenager who they could possibly belong to then the obvious answer is they are her husbands. All women know what it takes to give flowers to a man. So if her husband received flowers from someone and shoved them into the closet to hide them....it isn%26#039;t good. Tell your %26quot;friend%26quot; I hope she gets the answers she needs, but if he hid them, chances are he won%26#039;t come clean.
Reply:Maybe he was keeping them as a reminder of someone from the past.
Reply:She needs to ask her husband.
Reply:If they were dead flowers, I would like worry about it one way or the other, must have been a while in the closet. If some one gave them to him, he must not have cared enough about it to display the flowers, might have put them in there because he knew it would start some un-necessary problems and bs. Bottom line is, why does your friend not ask her husband about them? How are we to know why there are there, only one of them really knows.
Reply:Only way to find out would be to ask the husband...maybe someone gave HIM flowers.
Reply:Just ask. Heck they could be from a funeral and kept for sentimental reasons. There are lot of rational reasons they were there. I bet she will feel alot better once she asks.

Why is it so difficult to give flowers?

I love giving flowers....whether it be someone%26#039;s birthday, special day, or just any day. I%26#039;ve never really had any problems; but the last 3 girls I gave flowers to, seem to think there%26#039;s something more to the flowers. I think they think I am leading them on...but I am not...at least not on purpose....I even told them before giving them the flowers that I give flowers to everyone, and it doesn%26#039;t mean anything.

I really don%26#039;t want to go through the big talk with these girls to tell them that the flowers are just flowers.....oh, the flowers were tulips, orchids, and roses, but the roses were white.

So should I stop giving flowers to people?

Why is it so difficult to give flowers?
Lol I love to get flowers and it%26#039;s like such a sweet gesture if someone does give out flowers....Well girls who like u will get thinking that ur leading them on but those who r not into u will just take them and give u a sweet smile and say thank u and be genuinely happy asking for the reason for u giving them flowers lol.

I was once given a red rose and i did take it with a good sweet smile and i indeed said thank you even when i knew the guy who gave me the flower liked me but u c I wasn%26#039;t into him at all...so u find exceptions but in general girls do feel guys giving flowers means they r leading on unless u give them flowers on their birthdays.

Ur problem is if u like some girl genuinely as a friend , to show her ur appreciation and liking u give flower to her right?

Mmmmm so all u need to do chigga is when u give flowers just write on the small card saying how u feel...for eg. Say Hope u like these flowers as a gift of appreciation from me%26quot; or say U r as good and gentle as these flowers, thanks for being such a good friend to me%26quot; or say Ur the nicest girls I have met to be my friend and u remind me of these flowers.

Lol i dunno but sure enuf these messages will send only friendly message.

Umm on the very extreme maybe u can just limit ur flower power to ur mom, sister, girl friend or some elderly folks.

Truly speaking old people will love them with no doubts in their minds ;-)

Seriously don%26#039;t stop giving out flowers it%26#039;s such a sweet and nice gesture maybe use the appropriate words while u give out the flowers.

Cheers.
Reply:Lol please do :) Report It

Reply:just stop giving flowers to attractive young women, unless you want to be in a more serious relationship with them. give flowers to your relatives and to older women... go to plays and randomly give flowers to the performers... etc.

now, on the off chance that the three women you gave flowers to were ugly and over 40, don%26#039;t worry about it, they%26#039;re just being sensitive. ;)
Reply:no its fine, if they cant accept that you%26#039;re giving them flowers to be nice

its their problem
Reply:Maybe you should give daisies. I don%26#039;t know why people read more in to flowers. My hubby has always been a flower giver and I used to work for a guy that also loved to give flowers and he bought them for %26quot;his girls in the office%26quot; as he called us all the time, we never thought anything about it. It was just something he like to do, and yes he bought roses and he bought them in our favorite colors, I liked yellow, someone else pink, the other red, that%26#039;s what colors we got. No big deal. Maybe they just want it to be more, maybe your just to darn irresistable! :o)
Reply:Try a card instead of flowers. Save flowers for girlfriends and moms.
Reply:Those girls have some sort of committment problem or something. I would never think that someone was coming onto me because of flowers. Now, if you gave me red roses with a corny poem, I would be scared. Those girls need to calm down and quit worrying...

I have been married for 15 yrs, and never buy flowers for my wife.?

Now we have married issued, but there are no 3rd party, fortunately. and I want to work it out. Next month will be her birthday, I want to buy flowers for her, and I don%26#039;t even know what kind of flowers she like, and I don%26#039;t want to ask her since she will notice. I just want make a surprise. what kind of flowers do you like girls/women out there ? could you give me suggestion ? and guys where do you buy flowers online that you think is good service for you wife/girlfriend ? what should I say on card ?

I have been married for 15 yrs, and never buy flowers for my wife.?
...go to a florist and ask their recommendations, ask for a card. and let your heart do the talking and deliver the flowers,

personally. with a hug and kiss.
Reply:1800flowers.com has a lot of different things to choose from. Or you can go to your local florist and have a professional help you with yolur choice. I love Lilies or Roses with babies breath.
Reply:You can go to flowers. com. and you can simply say I Love You and Thank You for Being There. A dozen red roses in a beautiful vase, she will be so excited and she will feel so loved. If she works she will be talking about it to everyone. Next time don%26#039;t wait so long to show how you feel. :)
Reply:I think you should get her a bouquet of helium balloons (8-10), a fancy cake with butter cream icing, and a nice flower arrangement from a florist.

You can%26#039;t go wrong with a nice surprise like that.

Then it would appear that you put a serious thought into this, than just a bunch of flowers from the grocery store.
Reply:I would go with 1800 flowers. their flowers are the best.

They have section where you can choose what occasion and they will show you some flower suggestions.

I would go with this one.

http://ww12.1800flowers.com/product.do?b...

my husband got these for me and they were beautiful
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t go for the typical Rose.....Go for something that shows you took the time to find the perfect flower for her. Something that fits her personality.

Personally I think roses are overrated kind of like gift cards just a quick and easy way to just show that you thought about him/her....I like it when I get something from someone that has there personal touch. I love to see how people see me.

Start with a flower that isn%26#039;t always picked like an Orchid, or a bundle of flowers with a variety of flowers....

Make sure you take the time to fill out the card with something special from you....Perhaps something about why you fell in love, something only she does for you that just wows you, or a special event that you can%26#039;t seem to quit smiling about.....Just make it personal not the cookie cutter fill-ins they offer at the store.

Good luck

I happen to like the %26quot;Stargazer Lily%26quot;.
Reply:You can go to a florist and thay will help you. You can also take your wife to dinner and have a wonder full night. Please don%26#039;t wait so long again.
Reply:Roses are good, buy them at the grocery store so you can see her expression when you give them to her-- card should say - I am so lucky to have been married to you for 15 years. Happy Birthday to my lovely wife.
Reply:The classic: roses. Buy a dozen long stem red roses. Don%26#039;t buy those cheap ones for $9.99 a dozen. The second you open them, the petals fall off. They are 2nd handed or even lower. I wouldn%26#039;t do online orders or grocery stores either. It%26#039;s best if you go to a local florist. They usually have fresh flowers available and you can pick and choose which ones you want and tell them exactly what you want. When you order via online or on the phone, you don%26#039;t get to see what you ordred and can be disappointing. In your case, I would take the extra step of hand selecting it and ask for some in person help.
Reply:stop being a cheap and get the woman some dagum flowers, wal-mart has them!!
Reply:roses or very pretty send her a dozen, but if her birthday around v-day send them early or for a week cause every woman will get flowers on v-day make ehr feel special. tell her you know you should do mor efor her and you relaize you have taken her for granted
Reply:Give her a dozen Black Roses and a Black eye to boot,Move on!Seriously If you don%26#039;t know a flower shop that can deliver a dozen Red Roses you are finished,15 years of being an insincere husband No flowers ever is pretty hard to make up .for lost time.Deliver them yourself. To hell with the card say you are sorry when you hand them to her and kiss her.
Reply:You can%26#039;t go wrong with roses. The are the flower of romance. Tell her you love her on the card. If you need to apologize for some thing do that also. Whatever your marriage issues are don%26#039;t ignore them. Sit down and have a nice long talk disconnect all distractions.
Reply:What a shame. This is why you have marital issues---you%26#039;ve probably shown very little signs of affection or love for the past 15 years. I have a girlfriend, whose husband did the same thing for 20 years. He tried to turn over a new leaf about 5 years ago. It%26#039;s too late and is not working. No matter what he does, the 20 bad years outweigh the small acts that he does now. Hopefully, yours isn%26#039;t too late.

I bought a rose flower for my mother birthday but I think it was not sutable for her.what should I do now?

well I think when I gave it to her she was not very happy.and I think it was not sutable for her.if I could do better pls say it to me?

I bought a rose flower for my mother birthday but I think it was not sutable for her.what should I do now?
What makes you think it was not %26quot;suitable%26quot;? It was a gift from you. It was thoughtful and beautiful. Was she not grateful? Perhaps her unhappiness had nothing to do with your flower. Have you talked to her about it? Perhaps she has other things on her mind.

If you gave your gift from love and gratitude, that%26#039;s all you need to be concerned with. The receiver%26#039;s reaction: let it go.

I wish you Peace.
Reply:You poor thing, I think it should have been a wonderful gift because it was givin w/love. If she doesn%26#039;t apprieciate that honey then you deserve a better mother. I know that sounds rediculous now, but your not the only kind soul that is trying to broken down by their loved ones.

You are good enough!! Don%26#039;t ever question that again please.
Reply:I think the best is to give her is %26quot;Dress%26quot;......with flowers.....She will sure love it...
Reply:Please, if she didn%26#039;t look happy, then give here something else. Maybe a few dollars would do. I don%26#039;t like roses either. Too much money spent on them to look at them die. But, she still should%26#039;ve pretend to be happy. It%26#039;s the thought whats count.
Reply:As a mother, I would love to get a rose. I think she liked it more than you think, just because it came from you. Trust that your mother loves you and knows you love her, too. Sometimes other things going on affects how you react to something. Talk to her, and it will work out!

Reply:Well first sayyou ordered somrthing and since it wasnt shipped you got her a flower for now. Give her a surprise party luau...The suppiles want shipped over yet
Reply:I know it sounds trite, but it really is the thought that counts. As a mother, I don%26#039;t place ANY importance on what a gift is, but what it represents. It means more to me that my child sincerely thought of me than anything she puts in my hands. I%26#039;m sorry, I know you%26#039;re feeling disappointed, but it%26#039;s possible that you%26#039;re misinterpreting her feelings. Then again, maybe she doesn%26#039;t have the same kind of selflessness that you do. You have a tender heart and as long as your gift was heartfelt, you should not second-guess it. Any rose my daughter gave me would be the most beautiful flower in the world!
Reply:give her a cake
Reply:That was sweet of you and I am sure she liked it :) So now, go paint her toes nails and finger nails. Do her hair and makeup and she will cherish this day forever :)
Reply:give her a %26quot;day at the at home spa%26quot;
Reply:I think it%26#039;s too bad that she could not be more gracious about receiving a nice gift like that.
Reply:She should of been happy that you even got her something. Anybody who does not apreciate your gift didnt deserve it from the get go. Sounds a little selfish to me. Dont trip, thats her deal!
Reply:Her problem, not yours. Move on. Next birthday, plan differently.

I bought these flowers a little while ago...?

Today is my boyfriend Mom%26#039;s birthday so I got her flowers. I bought them about 2 hours ago and was going to drop them off at her job, but she isn%26#039;t there, or home. She is at the doctors and will be home in a little while. I figure I%26#039;ll just cook myself some lunch and try to see if she%26#039;s home in about an hour or two. Thing is, I don%26#039;t ever really get flowers and I don%26#039;t know how to care for them at all. I didn%26#039;t get a vase (and I don%26#039;t own vases) I got them as a wrap so it looks pretty. I sprinkled some water on the about 20 minutes ago. Will the flowers die or become not as beautiful within the next hour or two before I bring them to her?

I bought these flowers a little while ago...?
they should be okay. if you want, wrap some wet paper towels around the bottom of the stems and loosely wrap that with some plastic wrap so that water doesn%26#039;t get everywhere. Leave that on until you go to your boyfriend%26#039;s mother%26#039;s house.
Reply:try just taking a glass or something and putting just a little bit of water in it and just put them in your fridge.
Reply:no they will be fine, they last in the store and entire day. flowers last at least a week before looking dead. dont put them in a vase because its a lot of work because you unwrap them and then wrap them again
Reply:fill the sink and put them in there ,or in a bucket of water in a cold, cool place they should be fine then I%26#039;ve brought flowers and kept them in a bucket of water in the shed over night and they looked just as nice as when i brought them , after all florist vans are refrigerated as the cold air keeps them fresh hope this helps love Tracey

Buying flowers...please help!?

I have known a young woman for a month and a half now. Next Saturday is her birthday and she would like flowers. Her favorite color is red and her favorite flower is a rose, but I feel too forward giving her red roses at this stage of the relationship. What would you recommend?...Thanks!

Buying flowers...please help!?
Hey Jason,

Yes, red roses might be too forward but a combination rose bouquet of ie. red and white will tame any ideas that you%26#039;re forcing the issue in your relationship. Also, pink roses are always a good choice for %26quot;friendly%26quot; rose colors, especially for women.

Mixed colored roses ie: http://www.order-flowers-delivery.com/bu... are festive, fun, and harmless color-wise, and your lady friend will get her red roses along with any other colors she might like.

Let us know what you do and how she reacts, k?
Reply:well, if you feel too forward, maybe just give her one red rose and get her something else. that way she gets her favorite flower and a little something extra! good luck =]
Reply:the best u can do is u can go to the nearest florist shop...hv some advise from the florist...explain ur situation...they r more professional from us here....maybe u can juz giv her some orchid..it%26#039;ll giv her a hint that u like to hv further step in ur r/ship.

Cost? CHEAP! You can get 6-packs for $1.50-$2.00---get a bunch, stick %26#039;em in the ground %26amp; water! Just water regularly %26amp; some may die, but so what? They%26#039;re cheap! I do Miracle Grow once a month %26amp; have beautiful flowering plants %26amp; off 3 cumcumber vines in a pot on my deck, I get enough cukes to be sick of %26#039;em so the miracle grow does well! (SECRET INGREDIENT FOR ALL my miraculously huge plants!......stuff called ROOT BLAST--GOT a huge amount off QVC years ago. You drop a tsp. in the soil at the roots when planting--it makes the roots grow super fast %26amp; HUGE so the plant does the same!)

Reply:Hi there, muf,

You didn%26#039;t say where you live, but gardening season is over. We will soon be going into Fall and Winter.

The chippy things were probably mulch to keep in the moisture.

Here are some things you can do before spring of next year:

%26quot;Since you are a beginner, this year start your garden with plants that you get from a garden center or nursery. They are called bedding plants and come in a six pack. Look for a little tag sticking in the six pact showing directions on how to grow the plants. If the tag is not there, ask for one or buy something else. Directions are VERY important.

Seeds are not always easy to grow. And wildflowers are the hardest so don%26#039;t be disappointed if they don%26#039;t show up.

Two good things to do for yourself is to call your local County Extension Service and ask for all the information that they have about gardening in your area. They usually have a packet/kit of things for the home gardener.

And number two would be to pick up a couple of beginner books. You really do need to know about soil, compost, mulch and etc. My sweet hubby and I have always liked the Dummies series, but there are many, many good books to buy, or visit your local library.

To keep from over watering or not watering enough, buy a water analyzer from a nursery or garden center. Be sure to read the directions. This will be one of your best tools.

Send for some free gardening catalogs and get use to the different types of plants, colors, and when to plant. They are filled with good informtion and pictures. And they will keep you company during the long winter months. Here is a list of just a very few. There are hundreds more. You do not have to buy from them:
